Hey,
My name is Monique and I love creating art! I’m an artist in a graphic design program.
I draw whenever I can. I used to draw so much during high school that I brought a small sketchbook to just draw. I thought art was a central focus in this program but we almost never draw. I know we have a course about next semester but it just feels too long. Also Illustrator/vector art BARELY counts for me. I don’t like it but it’s better than nothing at all, you know? It’s still fun and try my best to incorporate my art style into poster/websites but its hard when I have rules/guidelines to respect. Even so, i tried to sneak in stuff that feels like me in my projects.
This is my art:

I draw too much.
I don’t think I’m very creative even though I draw and think about my own fantasy world. Whenever our teachers gives us a project, even while writing this, I had to ask my teacher for an idea. He says I should tie my art to the program and I can freely talk about anything. I think it’s just some sort of mental block I have for myself to be fair and I get easily distracted. Anyway, I do wish to tie those two things together! I just don’t know how to, for now at least. I don’t really have a clear view of what I want to do or what am doing but I want to have as much as I can and be true to myself.
This is my first blog post, it’s definitely not perfect or professional but I’ll improve, hopefully. Feel free to follow me on Instagram, I post my art there!
Apologies in advance,
Monique
