Typography is something I didn’t think would be important. Before taking my Typography class, I never though that typefaces can evoke emotions or anything really. It’s still pretty hard to imagine that but after taking that class, I can say that I can understand a bit more than what used to.
For this project, we had to experiment drawing different fonts and illustrating our initials. The first that came to my mind was maggots. They start with the same initial as me and are not that hard to draw. I also thought it would be much more unique. I took a reference picture, drew and rendered the maggots on a separate program. Then, I copied and pasted them a M shape. It was quite easy but I think it’s one of my proudest works yet. The best part was making it into a sticker! I think I made a very good and creative typography sticker!
Obviously, I don’t think alot of people would like this but I wanted to showcase it because it shows I can sometimes think outside of the box. This boring project turned into something I had fun creating! I think that’s a kind of joy that a graphic designer should have while working.
